William (Bill) Eugene Prince, Jr., lovingly known simply as “Junior” by his family, aged 71, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed away early in the morning on October 19, 2023, after battling atrial stenosis. He was born in Oklahoma City on December 28, 1951, to William Eugene Prince, Sr. and Daisy Monte Feltner. He was the second of five children and the eldest boy.
Bill was an extremely hard worker his entire life and passed that legacy on to all those who were around him. He retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 2014 as a Bridge and Roads Inspector, a position of which he was so very proud.
Bill always had a love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, from an early age – he and his siblings attended Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and church services at Airport Assembly of God as children. In his early teenage years, he was the paper boy for a neighbor, Anna Wilson, and he became one of many teens ferreted to church services at Christ Gospel Church in Midwest City, OK by her. She is still loved and remembered most fondly by many in the family and Bill always had a deep love and appreciation for her. It was at Christ Gospel that he received Salvation, was Baptized in Jesus’ Name, and where he also received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, mother, both sisters (Beth and Belinda), and one brother (Elmer). Bill leaves behind two children, Angelic Hayes and Husband Richard of Camby, Indiana and David Prince of Piedmont, Oklahoma; one brother, Mark Prince and partner Brenda Strickland of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren – Audrianna and husband Gabriel, Zoie, Nathaniel, William David, and Erick. He also leaves behind too many first, second, and third nieces and nephews to name individually here.
There will be a Celebration of Life Home-Going service for Bill at 1:00 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with an open visitation time beginning at 11:00 a.m. The church address is 4824 W Hwy 70, Durant, OK 74701. There will be a visitation period prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma with a short graveside service. The cemetery is on the same road as Calera High School; 407 Rose Hill Lane, Calera.
