William Daniel David "Danny" Driskell

April 4, 1955 - July 31, 2026

William Daniel David "Danny" Driskell, 71, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on July 31, 2026.

Danny was born on April 4, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Robert Earl Driskell, Sr. and Shelby Ann (Baze) Driskell. He was raised in Cleveland, Oklahoma, where he attended Cleveland Public Schools and proudly played for the Cleveland Tigers football team. He graduated with the Cleveland High School Class of 1974 before attending Haskell Indian College in Lawrence, Kansas, on a football scholarship.

Returning home to the Cleveland area, Danny built a career doing what he loved. He worked in automotive repair before becoming an aircraft painter in Tulsa and the surrounding area for many years. Even after retirement, Danny's passion never faded. He continued repairing cars, boats, and small engines, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Danny found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his children and family, making memories at the lake, relaxing at home, and listening to classic rock music. He especially treasured his famous family tradition known simply as "The Talk," heartfelt conversations filled with wisdom, encouragement, laughter, and love that left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to share them. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and they affectionately called him "Pappy." He delighted in teaching them, sharing stories, and offering a steady, warm presence that made every visit memorable. Danny's gift for making people feel welcome extended to his grandchildren as he passed along the lessons and kindness that defined his life.

Danny had a gift for making people feel welcome. Whether telling stories, offering advice, or simply sitting together in quiet conversation, his presence brought comfort and warmth. He believed the greatest treasures in life were family, friendship, and the moments shared together.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Kay Driskell; his children, Mandy Driskell, Dana , Bobbie Driskell, Carlie Ward, Will Driskell, Dannie Jo Driskell, and Ethan Driskell; Dana Driskell(niece); his nephew Josh Driskell and his niece Cricket Lunsford; his stepchildren, Jeff Ashby and Kaylie Cook Matt and Katrina Ashby; and numerous grandchildren; one great-grandson; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl Driskell, Sr. and Shelby Ann Driskell; his son, Jason Driskell; and his brother, Bobby Driskell.

Danny's family finds comfort knowing that while his earthly journey has ended, his legacy lives on in every story shared, every lesson remembered, every classic rock song played a little louder, and every quiet moment that begins with, "Let's have a talk." Though deeply missed, his love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
