Sheryl Kay Gulley passed from this life on September 11, 2026, at the age of 75 in Sperry, Oklahoma.
Sheryl was born on January 29, 1951, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Elmer L. and Elnora Audrey (Peterman) Dawson. Sheryl grew up and attended school in Cleveland and later graduated with the Class of 1969. After high school, Sheryl worked for Emiley Western in Pawnee as a seamstress and later worked at MunsingWear in Hominy. Sheryl started a home daycare before expanding into a full-time Ewe and Me Daycare in Cleveland. During that time, she also worked part-time at Osage Wireline in the front office as a receptionist. In the early 2000s, Sheryl retired and closed the daycare. For many years Sheryl was also the Avon representative for many years in the area.
Sheryl had a special love for children and cherished the joy they brought into her life. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting, and especially treasured time with the quilting group at Olive Baptist Church. Sheryl was also in a bowling league for many years in Hominy. She attended First Christian Church for several years in Cleveland before moving to Drumright, carrying with her the friendships and memories she made along the way.
Survivors are Mike Gulley of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother Daniel Dawson; grandchildren Toby Gulley of Mannford, Oklahoma, Shelby Gulley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren Ariel Anderson, Max Plumb, Hazel Plumb, niece Danni Jo Owens and a host of other relatives and friends. Sheryl was preceded in death by her husband Larry Gulley, parents Elmer and Elnora Dawson.
Services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with David Logsdon officiating services. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
