Sherry Owens

Sherry Sue Owens passed from this life on May 13, 2025, at the age of 87 in Osage, Oklahoma.

Sherry was born on August 2, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Kimball Eugene and Mayme Lorena (Ahner) Sanders. Sherry grew up attended school in Osage where she completed her education. Sherry was united in marriage to Kenneth Orville Owens on March 1, 1953, in Osage, Oklahoma. She and Kenny established their home in Osage where they raised their four children, Susan, Rhonda "Tata", Kimball and Katharine. Sherry later returned to complete her education, graduating from Osage High School. Sherry began working for Emlee Mills in Pawnee, later she started at Munsingwear in 1971. She worked there until the closure of the facility in 1991. She continued with the new company Protog until 1997 and retired from Southwest Cupid in 1999. Sherry held the position of Town Treasurer in Osage for over 30 Years.

Sherry enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, sewing and painting. Some of her favorite things to do was cooking Sunday meals for everyone while visiting and laughing. Some of her most memorable times were having her children, being a grandma, getting married, and at the age of four singing a special song with her daddy. Two people who had a great effect on Sherry were her husband Kenny and elementary school teacher Mrs. Dayton. Sherry was a very caring, loving and giving person. She has also been a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland.

Survivors include her three daughters, Susan Elaine and husband Glenn Dale Coffey of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Rhonda Lynn and husband Frank Allen Horton of Prue, Oklahoma; Katharine Kay Hunter of Osage, Oklahoma; one son Kimball Lester Owens and wife Brenda of Prue, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenny Owens, great-granddaughter Elaine Coffey, and seven siblings Billy Sanders, Ted Sanders, Charles Sanders, John Sanders, Clyde Sanders, Hugh Smith and Betty Goddard.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Cody Davis officiating. Burial will be held in the Osage Cemetery at Osage, Oklahoma.
