Sharon Kay Greer

Sharon Kay Hamrick- Greer passed away into eternal life on April 21, 2026 at the age of 81.

Sharon was born on March 4, 1945, the second child of Bonita and Robert Hershner in Mansfield, Ohio. Sharon was raised along with her older brother Roger Guy and younger sister Gail Roberta in Lexington, Ohio where she graduated high school in 1963. Following a short relocation to Florida, Sharon and her family settled in California where she met her first love Duane whom she married on January 23, 1965. Sharon and Duane were united in marriage until his passing in 2000. The couple began a life together in Pomona, CA later moving to several cities within the San Gabriel Valley and finally settling for a number of years in Apple Valley in San Bernardino County, CA. Together they raised two sons, Michael Duane, born in 1968 and Matthew Vincent, born three years later in 1971. Sharon worked as court clerk in Los Angeles County for a few years and, after relocating to San Bernardino County, continued her career as a superior court judges clerk for many years until her final promotion to court manager for the entire county of San Bernardino until her retirement in 2006. In 2008, Sharon relocated to Owasso, Oklahoma where she resided permanently. In November of 2015, Sharon was united in marriage with Jim Greer whom she celebrated 9 happy years of marriage until his passing in 2025.

Of her many accomplishments, Sharon was most proud of her five grandchildren: Alec, Zachary and Andrew born to Michael and Bernie, and Kyle and Kailyn born to Matthew and Penny. From her grandchildren, she was affectionately called Mimi. Mimi eagerly awaited the birth of her first great grandchild, Palmer, born to her only granddaughter Kailyn.

Sharon was a talented musician playing multiple instruments including the banjo and piano. She was immensely proud that her talents were passed along to her grandchildren Kyle and Kailyn. She was a talented cross stitch, seamstress and quilter. Sharon and Duane both loved traveling to watch their two sons compete in many athletic games, often being characterized as their "biggest" fans, making monthly weekend trips to their boat with Duane at Lake Mojave and playing the quarter slots at the casinos. When Sharon retired, she continued the tradition of attending her grandchildren's many athletic competitions, band performances, and theatrical concerts. She loved traveling the world with family and friends and attended garden club meetings in Owasso. Sharon was an exceptional storyteller with impeccable comedic timing, had an infectious laugh, and a beautiful smile.

Sharon is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Michael and his wife Bernie of Oxnard, California; Matthew and his wife Penny of Owasso, Oklahoma; her five grandchildren and their spouses: Alec, Zachary, Kyle and his wife Lucy, Andrew and Kailyn and her husband Brayden; and one great grandchild, Palmer, expected in June, 2026. She is also survived by her only niece Holly and her husband Terry Alling and their two children, Abigail and RJ.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bonita Hershner, her beloved husbands Duane Hamrick and Jim Greer, and her siblings Roger and Gail Hershner.
