Ronald Lee ''Ronnie'' Summers was born June 15, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Eugene Carl and Winnie Summers. Ronnie moved just after his birth with his family to California to the Oakland/Freemont area. He was raised and attended school in the Bay area.

Upon completion of his schooling, Ronnie obtained his GED and then attended some college level courses in psychology and also obtained some art training classes. He returned to Oklahoma with his family in 1983. He has been working as a roofer for Anchor Roofing for the past few years.

Ronnie was an artist, specializing in freehand drawing and painting. He loved to fish and was going fishing at the time of his death. He was a member of the Oakhill Church of Keystone Lake.

Ronnie passed away as a result of injuries received in a car/train accident, south and east of Terlton on Friday, February 1, 2002 at the age of forty-five years, seven months and sixteen days. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Carl Summers on December 31, 1997.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Nichole and Dustin Bartley, Cleveland, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Lauren Bartley, Cleveland, Oklahoma; mother, Winnie Summers, Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother, Tony Gene Summers, Moscow, Idaho; two sisters, Linda Carpenter, Pelzer, South Carolina and Deborah Nelson, San Lorenzo, California; a special friend, Christine Patton and family.

Funeral services will be at the Chapel of the Oakhill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 7, 2002 with Rev. Harrel Jones officiating. Burial will be at the Oakhill Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
