Rita began working at Walmart, where she remained for several years before starting to clean residential and commercial buildings. In May of 2011, Rita and Danny moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where they have continued to reside. Rita retired in 2020 after 20-plus years.

Rita loved being with her family, especially her grandkids. She was also an avid OSU Cowboy fan, riding motorcycles and taking the grandkids on trips.
