Raymond Lewis

Raymond Dale Lewis passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 81 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Raymond was born on February 14, 1944, in Mannford, Oklahoma. He was the son of Bluford and Johnnie Faye (Quallate) Lewis. Raymond grew up and attended school in Mannford. Raymond graduated with the Class of 1962, which was the last graduating class at old Mannford. Following high school, Raymond started working at Carrier Corp, later joining the Local 430 Plumbers and Pipefitters. In 1964, he was united in marriage to his first wife, June Wilcoxson, and the couple established their home in Mannford. To that union, there are two children: Leselie Rae and Johnny Dale. In 1969, Raymond began building spec homes in Mannford. Throughout his life, Raymond built numerous homes in the area. In 1981, Raymond was married to Tammie. Raymond also sold many autos from Lewis Motors and had several rental homes in the area. In 2000, Raymond retired from Carrier after almost forty years.

Raymond always enjoyed working on cars and rebuilding them. He was often quoted as enjoying "drinking beer and chasing women." His children were his passion for life, and Sunday visits were the norm. Memorial Day was a very important holiday for him, and he would make sure to decorate family graves and have his sisters, Judy Graham and Linda Freeman, over to his home every year.

Survivors are his son John Lewis; two sisters, Judy Graham and Linda Freeman; two grandchildren,Justin and Dillon Lewis;and a host of other relatives and friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Bluford and Johnnie Lewis, one daughter, Leselie Lewis, and one brother, Bert Lewis.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Friendship Community Church in Mannford, with Pastor Delores Terrell officiating. Burial will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
