Peggy Janease Mcintire

Peggy Janease McIntire, 91, of Mannford, passed away on August 12, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.

Peggy was born on May 2, 1932, at home in the old town of Mannford, to Les and Juanita Hinton. She graduated from Mannford high school in 1950.

She married her high school sweetheart Jackie Edward McIntire on June 15, 1951. They lived the first years of their married life in Stillwater, OK while Jack attended OSU. While in Stillwater they had two daughters, Judy, and Jackie Lou. Jackie Lou passed away in 1956 and then Janet was born in July of 1956. They ended up moving to Tripoli, Libya in 1960 and Mac was born there in 1961.

Peggy and Jack moved back to Mannford in 1965 to take over the Mannford Trading Company from her mama and daddy. After selling the store, she worked various jobs in Sand Springs and Mannford until she and Jack opened the Mini Mac.

Mama loved the times at the lake, fishing, bird watching, and playing cards with good friends. She was an avid sports fan, loved OSU and the St. Louis Cardinals. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were the joy of her life. She loved us all so hard; she was our biggest champion, but we knew not to cross her.

Peggy is survived by her two children, Janet Prewitt and husband Donnie of Jenks, and Mac McIntire of Mannford. Her grandchildren, Chad Porter of Wichita, KS, Shane Porter and wife Kim of Mannford, Amanda Bowling of Jenks, Macy Williams and husband Colin of Villa Rica, GA. Her great grandchildren, Kiley Osburn and husband Kyle of Depew, Carson Porter of Des Moines, IA, Lexi Bowling of Stillwater, Amelia Stevens, Alani Williams and Adrian Williams of Villa Rica, GA. And coming December of 2023, a great great grandson Osburn. As well as numerous family members and her best friend Betty Petty.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Les and Juanita Hinton, sister Beth Shanks, brother Mack Hinton, daughters Jackie Lou McIntire and Judy Madewell as well as her husband Jack of 68 years.
