Patricia Jean Haiflich, 86, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Patty was born February 28, 1932, in Hominy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Cecil Onsloe and Georgia Elizabeth (Hull) Peters. Patty started and completed her education in Hominy, Oklahoma. Following the completion of her education, Patty worked at the Munsingwear plant for a short time before moving to the Sand Springs and Sapulpa area. She later returned to Hominy and accepted employment with the Hominy Hospital. While working at the hospital, Patty worked as a lab and x-ray technician. On March 6, 1976, in Cleveland, Oklahoma Patty was united in marriage to Garrett. They established their home in Hominy where they have continued to reside. Patty later began working for Dr. Churchhill following his retirement Patty worked for Dr. Lakin and Dr. Brewer until the closure of the facility in the late 1980’s. Patty soon accepted a position with the Health Department in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She worked as an office clerk until her retirement in 1997.
Patty enjoyed Oklahoma State football as well as Hominy Buck football and was very excited and looking forward to this year’s season. Patty and Garrett enjoyed their trips to Niagra Falls, New York, Mount Rushmore, and Yellowstone National Park. She was also very family oriented and loved the times she was able to be around her grandchildren. Patty was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hominy.
Survivors are husband Garrett of the home, four children Craig Roe and his wife Julia of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Angela Anderson and her husband Jerry of Wichita, Kansas, Rhonda Mefford and her husband Greg of Clarksville, Arkansas, Robin Williams and her husband Jon of Clarksville, Arkansas, twelve grandchildren Christi, Ronnie, Bryan, Jennifer, Erica, Crala, Jessica, Whitney, Collin, Kelsey, Skye, Preston, J.T.; eighteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by two siblings Elford Peters and Betty Peters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Mingus officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Porta Caeli House at 2440 North Harvard Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma. 74115. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 11th from 5 pm till 7 pm or online at www.chapman-black.com.
