Olin Albert Tabor

Olin Albert Tabor passed from this life on September 12, 2023, at the age of 84 in Terlton, Oklahoma.

Olin was born on February 19, 1939, at Pond Creek, Oklahoma, the son of Glenn Preston and Etta Elsie (Anthony) Tabor. Olin attended school and grew up on the family farm in Lamont, Oklahoma. Olin later graduated with the Class of 1957 from Lamont High School. Shortly after high school, Olin was united in marriage to Mitzi, and to that union, there are two children, Rod and Lisa, residing in Enid, Oklahoma. In 1966, Olin met Barbara Hutson and adopted and raised her five children, Gale, Kenny, Lori, Leroy, and Margaret, along with his two children in Terlton. Olin and Barbara had one child, Dawn. Olin initially worked at Flynt Steel in Sand Springs before gaining employment with Unit Rig, retiring in 1985. After many years, Olin started working as a pipeline inspector with Cleveland Inspection. In 2001, Olin met Jean McDonald, the love of his life. The two traveled to many places, working and seeing the United States. In 2016, Olin retired fully from everyday work.

Olin always enjoyed working and being outdoors. For many years, Olin worked, built, and perfected woodburning stoves, selling them to many people in the area. Hunting and fishing were also things Olin enjoyed doing.

Camping at the lake when his kids were growing up was always a memorable event in the orange bus. Olin also taught his kids all how to water ski. Tinkering on cars or whatever needed fixing were things he enjoyed doing. Smoking meat while having family and friends over to eat was always a big event. Olin liked a good joke, staying busy while working hard to provide for his family. He was a longtime member of the Jennings Hebron Lodge 151 AF&AM and a Shriner for many years.

Survivors are his longtime companion Jean McDonald of the home; children Kenny Tabor and wife Anita of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Gale Tabor of Catoosa; Margaret Reeves and husband Joe of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lisa Harvey Corbett and husband James of Prue, Oklahoma; Dawn Tabor of DeQueen, Arkansas, Johnny McDonald of Drumright, Oklahoma, Bryan Erwin of Drumright, Oklahoma; grandchildren Heather Dillon, Eve Adams, Amber Tabor, Kenny Tabor, Billie Jo Slamans, Barbara Brewer, Joe Reeves, Taylor Perry, Jordan Harvey, Rei Harvey, Kelly Tabor, Kenny Leroy Tabor, Bluesy Summers, Angel Swift, Rebecca Pitcock, Daniel Kuhnen, Becky Tabor, Jeff Johnson, Bo Johnson, Kaci Willis, Rachelle Burgess, Dana Hill, and a slew of great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
