Marshall Nance

Marshall A. Nance, age 83, passed from this life on Friday, February 16, 2024, at his home in Mannford.

Marshall was born March 6, 1940, at Mannford, OK to Russell and Rose (Hunt) Nance. He was raised and received his education in Mannford, before enlisting in the US Army. While stationed in Germany, he met Monika Zenk in 1964 and they were later united in marriage in Nuernberg, Germany. Following his honorable discharge in Dec. of 1967 from military service with the rank of Sergeant, they returned to Mannford to live. For a short time, they moved to Hallett before returning to Mannford where they have resided since. Marshall worked as a carpenter for many years until becoming disabled during his military service. Marshall was a car enthusiast, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR races. But the highlight of his life was being with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known for being pleasant and helpful to family and friends if they had a need. He was always there to help diagnose mechanical problems and assist with cars that needed repair. Dealing with a disability and illnesses could be a challenge, but he was strong and persevered through them, committed to his family and his dedication to Monika for 56 years.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are his wife - Monika; children - Robert Nance, and wife Cindy; Donna Branch and husband Jay and Patti Horton and husband Rick. Also surviving are siblings - Herbert Nance, John Nance, Linda Smith Joann Cackler, Dixie Wallace and Jerry Nance; as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Rose, siblings Ronnie Nance, Buddy Nance, Russell Nance, Jr and Beaulah Nance Stephans.

Cremation and services have been entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland. www.chapman-black.com

John 14:27

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid

John 14:1-3

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am
