Marion Wayne Crown, 84, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma.  

Marion was born June 16, 1933, in Avery, Oklahoma.  He was the son of Wayne and Alma (Galloway) Crown.  Marion was raised and received his education in Kendrick moving his senior year to Oklahoma City.  He later graduated from John Marshall High School.  Following high school, Marion moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and began working as an apprentice in the carpenter’s union.  He was later called to serve his country on April 17, 1953.  Marion served his county until he was honorably discharged on April 15, 1955.  Upon his discharge Corporal Crown returned to Tulsa, once again returning to carpentry.  He was soon offered a job with Southwestern Bell.  Marion was later united in marriage on December 3, 1958, in Seguin, Texas to Florence Margarett Young.  The two initially established their home in Copan before moving to Cleveland in the early 1960’s.  Marion continued working for Southwestern Bell until he retired following 42 years and 28 days.

Marion enjoyed being outdoors especially tending to his cattle.  While growing up, Marion had always dreamed of owning cattle.  He also spent many hours rebuilding the house the children were raised in.   Camping and traveling always seemed to be an experience that would never be forgotten.  Marion and Margarett would take a daily drive which was referred to as “Dallasing.”  Grandchildren were also very important part of his life.  Always making sure they were off to school in the mornings or helping out to make sure they were picked up afterward.    

Survivors are his four sons Marion "Rusty" Crown, Jr and his wife Cathleen of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Charlie Crown and his wife Kerry of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Cody Crown and his wife Rikki of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Terry Crown of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son in law Dale Allembaugh of Cleveland, Oklahoma; step mother Ida Belle Crown of Chouteau, Oklahoma; one sister Leona Murphy of Arcadia, Oklahoma, half-brother Donald Crown of Pryor, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, Cara, T.J., Chandra, Shea and Casey, Cody II, Chelsea and Corey, Carley, Laramie, Cassie, Corey, Scott, Tori; eight great grandchildren Jayden, Josie, Zane, Addalynn Sue, Clay, Caleb, Suzie, Austin and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.  Marion was preceded in death by preceded in death by his parents, wife Margarett, daughter Sue Allembaugh and a sister Nina Via.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Church of Christ with Robert Prather and Douglas Dingley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.  Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.

Pallbearers will include Scott Crown, Rusty Crown, Charlie Crown, Carley Crown, Cody Crown and Corey Crown.
