Lisa Jean Carter

Lisa Jean Carter passed from this life on July 24, 2026, at the age of 61, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Lisa was born on May 30, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Clifford Wayne, Jr. and Karen LaVern (McFarland) Morelock. Lisa grew up and attended school in Sand Springs and Cleveland, where she completed her education. Following her education, Lisa began working and was employed at the Skating Rink, Dari Diner, Walmart, and the local grocery stores. For many years she worked at Homeland and Cash Saver as a front-end manager. Lisa retired on May 20, 2016, to help tend to her grandchildren.

Lisa will be remembered for the love she shared so freely with her family and friends and for the countless memories she created throughout her life. One of her favorite stories was meeting the love of her life, Mark, while cruising Main Street in Cleveland in her Pinto-a memory that always brought a smile to those who knew her. Later, on February 12, 1983, Lisa was united in marriage to Mark Wayne Carter in Cleveland, Oklahoma, at the Western Heights Baptist Church.

Family was the center of Lisa's world. She treasured every holiday spent together, enjoyed making memories on float trips, and found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Nothing ever held Lisa back, and everything she did was with her family in mind. She was incredibly proud of her children, the families they have built, and the lives they have chose to live.

In her free time, Lisa enjoyed reading a good book and trying her luck at the casino. She lived life with honesty and authenticity, often saying, "What you see with me is what you get." Those words perfectly reflected the woman she was-genuine, caring, loyal, funny, intelligent, and hardworking.

Lisa had a heart that welcomed everyone. She treated others with kindness and love, and her home was always open to her children's friends, many of whom lovingly called her "Granny." She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like family, and her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Lisa's legacy is one of unconditional love, unwavering devotion to her family, and a life lived with strength, compassion, and authenticity. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those blessed to know and love her.

Survivors are her husband Mark of the home, three children Misty Ready and her husband Brock, Steven Carter and his wife Amanda, Jessica Newman her husband Toby; four siblings Teresa Owens, Nancy Moreno, Samantha Williams, John Morelock, ten grandchildren Kaden, Bailey Layman, Payton, Alexus, Teagan, Khloe, Fallon, Jade, Baylee, Bryton and Lincoln as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Karen Morelock.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with David Head officiating services.
