Leslie Amstutz

Leslie Dian Amstutz passed from this life on June 24, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78.

Leslie was born on July 19, 1946, in Bluffton, Ohio, the daughter of Donavin and Roberta Coleen (Wenger) Amstutz. As a young girl, Leslie grew up and attended school in Bluffton, later graduating from Bluffton High School with the Class of 1964. Following high school, Leslie attended Bluffton College and Lima Technical College. She later began working at St. Rita's in Lima, Ohio, and then moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. While residing in Cleveland, Leslie began working at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a scrub nurse and a first assistant.

Leslie loved horses and her Jack Russell Terriers. For many years, she raised American Foxhounds and Australian Terriers as show dogs. Reading novels was always a favorite pastime. Traveling and taking a road trip were always an adventure for Leslie. When time would allow, Leslie would crochet.

Survivors include sister Tamara Lewandowski and her husband, Gregory, of Bluffton, Ohio; niece Jocelyn Sherman, great-niece Alivia Lambert, and great-nephew Maddox Lambert, all of Bluffton, Ohio; special friend Christopher Ward and his wife, Heather, as well as their children, Landon, Peyton, and London; and a host of other relatives and friends. Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, Don Filhart, and parents, Donavin and Roberta Amstutz.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 3, 2025, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Davis officiating. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Leslie at www.chapman-black.com.
