Leselie Rae Lewis

Leselie Rae Lewis passed from this life on April 18, 2023 at the age of 56 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Leselie was born on May 23, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Raymond Lewis and June (Wilcoxson) Porter. Leselie grew up and attended school in Mannford where she graduated with the Class of 1984. Following high school Leslie attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she obtained her bachelors degree. Leselie later obtained her masters degree at Oklahoma State University. She worked for the State of Oklahoma over 30 years starting as a case manager with Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Service Division working with persons with intellectual disabilities. Leselie was later promoted to the Office of Client Advocacy as a Social Services Investigator for many years, retiring on April 1, 2023 due to health reasons.

Leselie was an introvert but her personality overshadowed that. She was often described as a very funny, clever and compassionate person. On numerous occasions, Leselie had a knack for making a comment that would make everyone laugh, even at her own expense. Being outdoors and with animals were her safe places. She loved to garden, feed the birds, go fishing and rescued numerous dogs. Leselie always considered herself as a solar farmer with her numerous solar lights placed throughout her yard. Leselie loved helping others and her job as an advocate for people with disabilities. She was kind, as well as the backbone of her family and friends. She fought for others and what they stood for. Leselie was a believer in God the Almighty who lived her life to the fullest and loved unconditionally. She was proud to have lived her whole life with the one she loved.

Survivors are her spouse of 33 years Valerie Pratt of the home, mother June Porter of Cleveland, Oklahoma, father Raymond Lewis of Mannford, Oklahoma, brother John Lewis and his wife Angela of Mannford, Oklahoma, brother-in-law Michael Ward and his wife LaDonna of El Dorado, Kansas, sister in law Jeanine Ward of Topeka, Kansas, nephews Justin and Dillon Lewis both of Mannford, Oklahoma, nephews Devin Ward of El Dorado, Kansas, and Philip Layton of Abilene, Kansas, 4 rescue dogs and a host of other relatives and friends.
