Lee Roy Shuck passed from this life on June 13, 2023, at the age of 94, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.


Roy was born on March 16, 1929, in Picher, Oklahoma, the son of Henry Nathan and Stella Atha (Harriman) Shuck. Roy attended school in Picher, where he was raised and attended school. During his time in school, Roy was very active in sports. Following graduating, Roy joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He served aboard the USS Jason ARH-1 and was honorably discharged on October 24, 1951. Roy returned to Picher, Oklahoma worked with his father moving homes. He was later united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Hull on March 1, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Several years later, Roy and Liz moved to Oregon, where they remained until 1965. In 1965, Roy and Liz moved to Owasso, Oklahoma, purchased Shuck's Recreation Center, and gained employment with Armco Steel in Sand Springs. In the early 1970s, Roy and Liz purchased property on Keystone Lake in the Appalachia Bay area. In 1991, Roy retired from Sheffield Steel after over 25 years with the company.


Liz and Roy always loved to travel. Taking several trips to Alaska, once to Hawaii, and numerous times to Oregon. Roy landed a 62.5-pound King Salmon during one of his trips to Alaska, one of the largest ones on record for that area. They traveled to Alamo, Texas, yearly during the winter until the weather warmed back up in Oklahoma and returned home. Roy and Liz started square dancing in Oregon and continued the activity with the Pepper Steppers in Sand Springs and the Rushing Stars in Alamo, Texas. Roy always had a massive garden in the summer and would harvest his crops for Liz to can and give to friends and family. Playing board games, as well as SkipBo and Joker, were always memorable times. Roy and Liz were long-time members at Keystone General Baptist Church.


Survivors include four children Rickey Lee Roy Shuck of Philippines; Teri Suanne McCullar and her husband Mac of Stigler, Oklahoma; Cindy Jarvis and her husband Ray of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; David Glen Shuck and his wife Lina of Mannford, Oklahoma; one sister Loretta Michels of Roseburg, Oregon; grandchildren Bailey Minihan, Tanner Shuck, Carly Shoemake, Dillon Wooten, Erick Jarvis, Mark Jarvis, Lacy McCullar and her husband Walter Smith; fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Liz, and siblings, Oleta Millard, Walter Shuck, and Marcella Shuck.


Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Steve Griffith speaking.
