Jimmy Dean Johnson passed from this life on October 28, 2023, at the age of 70 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

Jim was born on August 8, 1953, in Pryor, Oklahoma, the son of James Richard and Nadene (Hobbs) Johnson. Jim initially grew up in Tulsa where he began school and later moved to Prue, Oklahoma. He graduated from Prue High School with the Class of 1971. Jim continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Jim resided in Tulsa following college working for Morris Ghost Bear refinishing furniture. Then Jim ventured out on his own starting Wood Artist his own company that he operated for many years in Tulsa. In the early 2000's, Jim began working for Wood Systems, Inc. in Tulsa where he began as a project manager and was currently a project estimator.

 

Jim always enjoyed fishing, collecting artifacts, taking road trips, being outdoors and most of all he loved woodworking. He loved being at the lake fishing at "The Dock."

 

Survivors are his five children Brian Johnson and his wife Kendra of Owasso, Oklahoma, Aaron Johnson of Mannford, Oklahoma, Bethanie Horton and her husband Jeremy of Prue, Oklahoma, Jesse Johnson and his wife Kara of Enid, Oklahoma, Joshua Johnson and his wife Jonica of Cleveland, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Logan, Alli, Peighton, Addisyn, Jace and Kash as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his two brothers Donald and Robert Johnson

 

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Prue First Baptist Church. A private burial will be held in the Prairie View Cemetery in Prue, Oklahoma.
