Jerry Larkin Finney passed from this life on January 21, 2026, at the age of 78 in Sperry, Oklahoma.

Jerry was born on March 24, 1947, the son of Wilburn Finney and Carmen (Cherry) Finney. Jerry grew up and attended school in Arkansas later moving with his parents to Hallett where he completed his education. Jerry worked lots of small jobs until he accepted a position with FloBend. He began working for the Turnpike and later retired in 2008.

Following retirement Jerry was able to do what he enjoyed most working around the house, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandkids.

Survivors are his daughter Patty Sodowsky and Trey of Pawnee, Oklahoma; two brothers James E. Finney of Vian, Oklahoma, Thomas Ray Finney of Jennings, Oklahoma; one sister Sharon Ware of Vian, Oklahoma, grandchildren River and Weston and a host of other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, siblings David Finney, Janette Finney, Emma Gail Sanderson and a granddaughter Kinzlee.

Graveside services will be 3:30 pm, Friday, January 23, 2026, in the Bethany Cemetery at Hallett, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Jerry at www.chapman-black.com.
