Alice Janette Hodson passed away on February 2, 2025, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, at the age of 83, with her family by her side. Janette was born on September 23, 1941, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, to William Sanford and Eva Pearl (Molleur) Blackburn. She grew up and attended school in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Janette married Alva Ray Hodson on June 16, 1956, and again on May 16, 1983. She had a passion for learning and earned certifications in floral design, real estate, loan processing, and secretarial work. These qualifications helped her excel in various jobs, including positions at Cleveland Flowers, Yukon Nation Bank, the Oklahoma Unemployment Office in Sand Springs, TG&Y, and as a Walmart Associate for over 29 years. However, for many years, Janette was a consultant for Beauti Control. Traveling was one of Janette's favorite things to do. She took many cruises, traveled to Branson, took camping trips to Pine Island with family, and took numerous bus tours. Christmas festivities with all of her children and grandchildren were special times. Janette looked forward to the Tulsa State Fair and Home and Garden Show while being in the booth with her BeautiControl products. Janette always liked getting together with her friends to play Bunco. Having a beautiful display of flowers in her yard was always unique to Janette. Janette loved collecting shoes. She was very meticulous about her clothes while making sure everything matched and was ironed. Janette also had a spoon collection with spoons from every state. Janette attended Western Heights Baptist Church and, for many years, taught Sunday School. Janette also liked country music, and her favorites were Conway Twitty, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, Loretta Lynn, John Anderson, and Garth Brooks. Her favorite TV shows were The Young and The Restless, Blue Bloods, and The Equalizer. Janette is described as a loving, giving, compassionate, loyal and forgiving person. Survivors include her three children, Alva Fremont Hodson and wife Norma Lee, Annette Ailene Peterson, and husband Doug; Alice Renee Salyer and husband Jimmy; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Janette was preceded in death by her two sons, Billy Jay Hodson and Bobby Ray Hodson, grandson Jonathan Christopher Hodson, and a grandson, Noah Lee Brown.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Oak Hill Church on Keystone Lake, with Pastor Jason Crum and Troy Furr officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
