Jane Carrol Hall, beloved wife, teacher, and community member, passed away on July 21, 2023, at Cleveland Area Hospital in Oklahoma. She was born on June 26, 1945, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Glenn and Ruth Cook. Jane leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and a zest for life that will be deeply missed by her family and friends.


During her high school years in Cleveland, Jane worked alongside her parents at Cook's grocery store. Her strong work ethic and dedication to the family business laid the foundation for her later accomplishments. After graduating from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1963, she attended Edmond Christian College before furthering her education at the University of Tulsa. On January 8, 1965, Jane was united in marriage to Larry Lee Hall in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the Church of Christ. Jane's thirst for knowledge led her to the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education with a Minor in Music in 1970. Following the death of Larry in 2012, Jane married James Davis on April 11, 2014.


Passionate about business and accounting, Jane pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University and earned a Master's Degree in Business. Armed with knowledge and enthusiasm, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a teacher. For over thirty years, Jane dedicated herself to shaping young minds at Cleveland High School. Her expertise spanned subjects such as Business and Accounting. A pillar of the academic community, Jane influenced countless students who remember her fondly.


Outside of her professional endeavors, Jane found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had an adventurous spirit that led her to embark on exhilarating snow skiing trips to Red River, New Mexico, and Salida Colorado. In quieter moments, she found solace by indulging in crime and mystery shows as well as watching The Magnolia Station. Jane also had a talent for writing and playing the piano. These creative outlets allowed her to express herself fully.


Jane's warm personality overflowed into all aspects of her life. She was known for being witty, spunky, and having an infectious laugh. Her presence brightened every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Strong-willed and determined, Jane faced life's challenges head-on, inspiring others with her resilience and unwavering spirit.


Family was at the center of Jane's heart, and she cherished the moments spent with loved ones. Her proudest accomplishments included her role as a loving cat owner. These furry companions brought immeasurable joy to her life. Additionally, Jane delighted in exploring different countries, having had the opportunity to travel to Europe and Mexico. She also took great pleasure in organizing and accompanying high school kids on European travel excursions, broadening their horizons through firsthand experiences.


Jane's devotion extended to her surviving family members, including her husband Jim Davis of the home. She is also survived by her daughter Amanda Armstrong and husband Brian of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Jane's stepchildren Dawn Anson and husband Mark, stepson Ronnie Grimes also feel her absence deeply. She leaves behind treasured memories for her grandchildren Emily Porter and husband Dustin, Logan Armstrong and wife Danielle, Kelsy Anson, Ethan Anson and wife Tara, Bailey Anson, Logan Anson. Jane's great-grandchildren Carson, Kennedy, Kylee, Cannon, Hollyn, Ashlyn, Hazel will forever hold a special place in their hearts.


The impact Jane had on those around her can never be fully expressed in words alone. Her passing leaves an indelible void within the hearts of family members and friends alike. To honor Jane Carrol Hall's memory and celebrate her extraordinary life filled with joy and love, a visitation will be held on July 25th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home located at 108 West Delaware in Cleveland.


A funeral service will follow on July 27th at 2:00 pm at the same location. The family welcomes all who wish to join them in paying their respects and sharing cherished memories.


Jane Carrol Hall was an exceptional individual whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. Her passion for education, her love for her family, and her outgoing nature touched the lives of countless people. Although we mourn her loss, we take solace in knowing that she will be forever remembered and cherished in our hearts.
