Kathleen's story began in the small town of Keystone, Oklahoma, where she grew up and attended school. After completing her education, she dedicated herself to helping her parents on their farm. Life took a joyous turn for Kathleen when she married Billy Mac Thomison on March 5, 1955, at the First Methodist Church in Cleveland. The couple made their home in Cleveland, where they lovingly raised their three sons, Rick, David, and Terry.
Kathleen was known for her strong work ethic and versatility, taking on various jobs throughout her life. One of her most notable roles was in home remodeling and wallpaper hanging, where her skills were highly sought after and recommended by many satisfied clients.
After the passing of Billy Mac, Kathleen found love again with Lloyd Stanley, Sr. They married on July 7, 1999, in Miami, Oklahoma, and resided in Cleveland. Kathleen began a new chapter in her professional life by working at Walmart, where she was employed for many years. Both Kathleen and Lloyd shared a passion for square dancing and were active members of the Pepper Steppers in Sand Springs for many years. Kathleen also took great pride in their custom hay baling business, contributing her hard work and dedication to their success.
Kathleen's connection to her land and her identity as a rancher were evident in her strength, resilience, and nurturing spirit. She was a deeply valued member of her community, known for her unwavering support of the Peninsula Fire Department and her involvement in the local FFA and 4H programs in Pawnee County. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a longtime member of the Keystone General Baptist Church.
Kathleen lived her life to the fullest, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of hope, warmth, and love. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful memories she created and shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit continues to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us forward with the same strength and resilience she exemplified throughout her life.
Kathleen is survived by her three devoted sons, Terry, Rick, and David Thomison, 5 Grandchildren, Chad Thomison, Chase Thomison, Jessica Thomison, Jennifer Thomison, Juliann Thomison; _____great grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love and strength. They, along with many other family members, friends, and community members, will remember her not only for her commitment to family and ranching but also for her warm heart and infectious laughter.
In celebration of Kathleen's remarkable life, memorial services will be held in her honor at a later date. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join them as they come together to pay tribute to a remarkable woman.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Inez Shaeffer as well as two husbands Billy Mac Thomison and Lloyd Stanley, Sr.
