Hoyt Glenn

Hoyt Christopher Glenn, also known as "Buzz", was born on May 5, 1934, in Osage, Oklahoma, the son of Love Lee Glenn and Florence Jesse (Owens) Glenn.

Hoyt grew up and spent his childhood through his teen years in the Osage area. This is where he went to elementary school and later graduated from Osage High School. During his time in high school, he played basketball, met his future bride, and worked in the oil field as a Field Hand. After high school Hoyt went on to Tulsa University where he worked on, and received his bachelor's degree, later continuing his education through Arizona State University, receiving his master's degree.

On November 24, 1955, at the Osage Baptist Church in Osage, Oklahoma Hoyt married Betty Faye Kinison and to this union, their daughters Kathy and Pam were born. Moving from Osage to Colorado, Hoyt took an 8th-grade science teacher position. While there he coached Junior High Basketball. In 1977 the family moved back to Osage where Hoyt once again went back into the oilfield as an Oil Producer.

Hoyt loved his family, and he loved to tell them about growing up in Osage. He loved teaching and helping others learn. Hoyt was fond of going on trips. They went on an Alaskan cruise, and a European tour, but camping trips in Colorado where they went hiking and fishing were some of the most memorable times. He enjoyed Country Western and Classical music, dogs, and teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish, and he was good at it. Hoyt was a member of the OIAP (Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association) and was a Proud member of the Cherokee Nation.

Hoyt spent his last days with the woman he loved and had been married to for the past 68 years, passing away on February 7, 2024, in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his daughter Pamela Diane Glenn Patterson. Hoyt is survived by his Wife, Betty Faye Glenn; Daughter, Katherine Glenn Eichenberger; Grandchildren, Stephanie Patterson Jones, Laura Patterson Ronck, Christopher Eichenberger, and Jason Eichenberger; Great-Grandchildren, Blakely, Emory, and Holden Ronck, and Steven, Edward, and Faye Jones; and a host of other relatives.
