George David White passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 78, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Born on June 8, 1947, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, George was the son of George Donaghey and Catherine Marie (Burks) White. He grew up and attended school in Muskogee before moving to Tulsa, where he graduated from high school. Soon after, he was drafted into the United States Army on December 7, 1966. Specialist George White served in Vietnam as a fuel truck driver and was honorably discharged on November 30, 1968. He received several honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Upon returning to Oklahoma, George began working as an ASE-certified mechanic at a local GM dealership. On December 12, 1969, he married Sandra Alene Medlock and established their home in Tulsa. In the 1980s, George opened White's Lock and Key and later worked at Kwikset Lock in Bristow. In 2005, he accepted a position with Halliburton, from which he retired in 2015.
George had a passion for working on cars and enjoyed making them go fast while Sandy would race them for lunch money. He also loved mowing lawns, listening to classic oldies, and trying his luck at the casino. His favorite shows included "Vice Grip Garage," "American Graffiti," and "Gunsmoke."
George is survived by his children, William White and his wife, Deanna, of Terlton, Oklahoma, and Tonya Victory of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cody Victory, William White, Lucas Woodhurst, and Logan White; one great-grandson, Mason Victory; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandra, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. The United States Army will provide military honors.
