Obituary

George Anton Dietz, Jr. passed from this life on January 6, 2026, at the age of 86 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

George was born on September 19, 1939, in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was the son of George Sr. and Roxie (Price) Dietz. George grew up in Terlton, Oklahoma, and later graduated from the Class of 1957. George entered into the service of his country on October 1, 1958, with the United States Marines. PFC George A. Dietz, Jr. was honorably discharged on September 28, 1962. George had a love for basketball and later attended Bacone College on a full-ride scholarship. After two years, George transferred to Oklahoma State University. During his time at OSU, George was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. Following college, George was united in marriage on December 28, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Tulsa. George was employed with Turnplan as the office manager. He later accepted the position as director of Finance at Admiral State Bank. Several years later, George began working for Citicorp before working at Frontier Federal Savings and Loan. George later began working at Cleveland Bank and operated the Westport office on Keystone Lake. After retiring from the banking industry, George started carrying mail for the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier.

George always enjoyed going hunting. Later in life, he always enjoyed being at home watching sports. George enjoyed reading about history, financial issues, and World War II. George attended Keystone Baptist Church for many years. He always liked going to eat, especially at Albert G's and Brownies. However, he loved Sue's cooking and having his family around.

Survivors include his two children, Lanette Dietz of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mark Dietz of Cleveland, Oklahoma; his grandson, Andrew Gettle; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sue, and his son, C.J.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Terlton Cemetery. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for George at www.chapman-black.com.
