Evelyn Eileen Hooper passed from this life on February 27, 2026, at the age of 87 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Evelyn was born on February 20, 1939, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Evelyn was the daughter of Emmett and Geneva (Tatum) Blachard. Evelyn attended school in Pawnee Oklahoma where she graduated high school. At the Glencoe town fair, she met Paul Edward Hooper in September of 1957. The two had a two-week courtship returning from Florida, Paul proposed to Evelyn. The two were united in marriage on December 26, 1957. The couple returned to Florida, while Paul was station in the United States Air Force. The couple resided in Florida, Arizona, Hawaii, lastly at Whiteland Air Force Base in Missouri when he retired. Evelyn and Paul returned to Cleveland in May of 1975, where she continued to reside.

Evelyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking for her family. Her family and grandchildren were always the center of her life. Evelyn and Paul enjoyed traveling to see family and friends in Tennessee and Georgia.

Survivors are three children Billy Hooper of Jennings, Oklahoma, Larry Hooper of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Terri Hassell of Linden, Tennessee; five grandchildren Ashley, Maddie, Jeffery, Elizabeth, Willie; seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hooper, parents Emmett and Geneva Blachard, daughter Sherie Daniels and a brother Merle Blanchard.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Evelyn at www.chapman-black.com.
