Douglas Thornburg

Douglas Oland Thornburg Jr. passed away at his home on January 12, 2024, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, at the age of 61. He was born on April 3, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Doug is survived by his daughters, Bryany Thornburg-Cooper, and husband, Rick Cooper, and daughter, Dakota Cooper, of Newalla, Oklahoma, and Destiny Boyd-Thornburg and son, Carson Ryder Evans-Boyd, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, sisters, Terri Meadows and husband Brian of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Sherri Day and husband, Mark, of Loudon, Tennessee, stepdaughter, Shawna Kennedy and children, Michelle Kennedy, Scott Kennedy, and Jonathan Kennedy, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, grandson, Dalton Marlow Hall, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and great-grandson, Axtin Marlow.

Doug is also remembered by Barbara Hendrix Thornburg of Cleveland, Oklahoma, his aunts, Mary Patton ,of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Jean Huston, of Williamsburg, Virginia, and his uncle, Jerry Stephens, of Addison, Texas. He was an uncle to nieces Tracy Yekzaman and her daughter Arie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kimberly Wade, and husband Josh, and their sons Oland and Harlan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cheryl Day of St. Louis, Missouri, and to nephews, Robert Wagener, wife Jodi, and children Peyton, Gavin, and Logan of Brighton, Illinois, Dylan Day, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Daniel Day, of Alcoa, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Rita Thornburg, stepson Michael Hall, and uncles, Kent Patton, 'Ozzie' Thornburg, Ron Thornburg, and Gary Thornburg.

Throughout his life, Doug has had the love and support of his family and friends.

A memorial service for Douglas Oland Thornburg Jr. will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Western Heights Baptist Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
