Douglas Lee Lucas

Douglas Lee Lucas passed from this life on April 2, 2023, at the age of 60 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Doug was born on March 26, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Carl and Jerra (Wilcox) Lucas. Doug grew up and began attending school in Cleveland later graduating from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1981. Doug played and loved soccer during his time in school. Following high school Doug attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Doug began working at Muncie Power in Tulsa where he worked as tank inspector. In 2008, Doug began working at the Cleveland Public Schools as a high school janitor in 2020, his duties changed to begin taking care of the event center.

Doug enjoyed being in the outdoors especially hunting during deer season and fishing. Doug spent many hours preparing for deer season then getting ready for the next years season. Coaching kids was also his love. He spent numerous hours helping kids learn and excel in the game of soccer. Doug also refereed for several years before coaching so he could learn the game to teach it to the players.

Survivors include his two sons Nick Lucas and his wife Skyler of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Travis Lucas and Chandler of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; mother Jerra Lucas of Cleveland, Oklahoma, four grandchildren Koda, Chancie, Camille, Camden, Raemeey and a host of other relatives and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his father Carl Lucas and one sister Sandra Lucas.

Services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, April 6, 2023 @ the Cleveland Event Center in Cleveland, Oklahoma with Nick Lucas speaking. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma at a later date. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
