Donna Jean Glenn

Donna Jean Glenn, 80, passed from this life on October 19, 2019, at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Born June 11, 1939, in Bristow, Oklahoma, Donna is the daughter of Carl and Juanita Stevens. When she was 2, her family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where her father began work for Continental Oil Company. During WWII, her father was drafted, and the family moved to the Philippine Islands, then to Seminole, Oklahoma, to be closer to extended family. At the end of WWII, the family returned to Ponca City where Donna completed school. Donna played basketball and volleyball and was active in glee club. The family had a band that played small church and community functions.
After high school, Donna worked at Kress and TG&Y for a couple of years. While working at TG&Y, she met Loy Gene Lively, who worked there as a butcher. The couple married and had two children; Debra Kay and Duane Glenn. They were married for 30 years. In 1972, Donna went to work for Keystone Schools as its first secretary and drove a bus. While there, Donna learned bookkeeping, making reports and typewriting. When computers came about, Donna went to night school and became proficient with them. In 1998, Donna retired from Keystone Schools.
Donna went to Westport Baptist Church, serving as a Bible school teacher and working with the children’s groups. She also sang in the church choir. There she met William Herbert “Bill” Glenn. On April 15, 1988, the couple married in Miami, Oklahoma, then honeymoon in Branson, Missouri. Donna cherished a trip taken to Lake Texoma with her Grandma and Grandpa Stevens. While there, the family enjoyed fishing and food. There was a chocolate cake made by her grandma, fried chicken Debbie made, and some yeast rolls. She said the family held many more family visits, especially during the holidays, camping, and watching the kids grow up.
Donna is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill Glenn; 1 son, Duane Lively; 1 daughter, Debra Lewis; and five grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her first husband, Loy Gene Lively, and her parents.
