Dolores Ann Crook

Dolores Ann Crook passed from this life on May 30, 2023, at the age of 84, in Bastrop, Louisiana.

Dolores was born on March 24, 1939, in Mannford, Oklahoma, the daughter of Otis Earl and Freda Leota (Burnett) Head. Dolores grew up and attended school in Terlton, where she graduated from high school. Dolores was united in marriage to Thomas L. Crook in Terlton, and the couple divorced in the mid-1970s. Dolores worked as a teacher's aide for many years for the Morehouse Parish School Board. She also worked at the Bastrop First Baptist Church nursery and for IP Single Service as a secretary.

Dolores had many hobbies, including cooking and sewing. She sewed all of her clothing and her childrens for many years. Cooking was also her expertise, always cooking enough for an army and never turning anyone away. Holidays were special times for Dolores; Thanksgivings were usually at the Head Farm and frequently returned throughout the years. Here children and grandchildren were near and dear to her. Volunteered to assist with the band and traveled to all of the games. Dolores is described as a generous, kind, dependable and mother to the neighborhood kids.

Survivors are her three children, Edward Crook, William Crook, and Clarissa Gallo; grandchildren Courtney Crook (Seth), Joshua Gallo, and Nicholas Gallo; sister in law Emma Jo Head; great-grandson Lewyn Wilbur; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dennis and Donald Head.

With Pastor David Head officiating, Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Terlton Cemetery. Burial will be held in the Terlton Cemetery at Terlton, Oklahoma.
