Dennis Carl Maupin, a beloved figure and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at the age of 83, in his home in Maramec, Oklahoma.
Dennis was born on September 30, 1941, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Wayne and Wilma (Brown) Maupin. He grew up in the Keystone area, attended school there, and completed his education. Dennis was introduced to Emma Ellis by his sister, Judy, and the couple was united in marriage on June 23, 1962, in Maramec, Oklahoma. Together, they built a loving family and shared a life filled with love and laughter. Dennis started working at Sun Oil Refinery, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. He was known for his strong work ethic and leadership, earning the respect and admiration of his peers. Dennis and Emma lived continuously in the Cleveland area before recently moving to Maramec.
Dennis always enjoyed visiting his uncle Dave's family in Altus. He cherished float trips in Tahlequah and special occasions spent at the lake with family and friends. An avid golfer and fisherman, Dennis also loved riding his motorcycle. He particularly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete in sporting events. Known as a jokester, he often kept his family on their toes with his pranks.
A man of deep faith, Dennis had a passion for his Lord and Savior. He would wake up early each day to read the Bible and pray. Time spent with his family was precious to him, and he wanted everyone to know how immensely he loved them. Family trips to Disney World, Galveston, Florida, and memorable fishing excursions are cherished memories. Dennis also took Emma on a Hawaiian cruise, a lifelong dream of theirs. He has been described as quick-witted, loving, intelligent, and loyal.
Dennis found joy in life from an early age. He is survived by his devoted wife, Emma Maupin, loving children Dewayne Maupin and wife Shannon of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Yvonne Damron and Kenneth, Sr. of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Cindy Maupin of Cleveland, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his siblings Mickey Maupin, Jim Maupin, Jerri Rae Maupin, brother-in-law Ralph, and sister-in-law Marcie Ellis; grandchildren Felishae Maupin, Cheyenne and Ron Martinez, Kati Blanton, Kelly and Blake Ingram, Kenny Damron, Karla Damron, and Tara and Austin Cummins; great-grandchildren Aidan Damron, Titus Maupin, Raegan Ingram, Lydia Martinez, Ryder Claiborne, Parker Ingram, Trace Murray, Parker Cummins, and Ridi Damron; and great-great-granddaughter Aspen Damron, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
