Connie Collier

Connie Faye Collier passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 61, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Connie was born on November 20, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Harry Rudolph and Bonnie Jean (Morgan) Vandever. She grew up in Cleveland and Sperry, Oklahoma, and graduated from Sperry High School with the Class of 1982. Shortly after high school, Connie married David Collier, and they initially moved to Hennessey, Oklahoma, before returning to Tulsa in 1987. Connie worked as a hotel desk clerk at several locations in Tulsa and also spent several years working at a nursing center. After her mother passed away, Connie moved back to Cleveland to care for her. Following Bonnie's death, she relocated to Sapulpa but returned to Cleveland in 2022, where she continued to live.

Connie loved baking and spending time with her children and family. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing various games with them. One of her favorite memories was a trip to Florida to see the ocean. Connie also enjoyed watching TV shows like "I Love Lucy" and "The Beverly Hillbillies." She was known for being determined, loving, and protective, always making sure her children, grandchildren, and family knew how much she loved them.

Survivors include her three children: Kelly Bigbey of Stroud, Oklahoma; Bobby Collier of Hennessey, Oklahoma; and Janice Garcia of Meridian, Mississippi. She is also survived by five siblings: James Vandever of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Larry Vandever of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Angela Vandever of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Donna Vandever of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and Melissa Yochum of Cleveland, Oklahoma; along with five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bonnie Vandever.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Wayside Chapel in Terlton, with Reverend Willis Morgan officiating. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 PM on July 10, 2025, at Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
