Colleen Gaye Kelley passed from this life on October 4, 2025, at the age of 66 in Collinsville, Oklahoma.
Colleen was born on August 11, 1959, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dale Max and Mary Jean (Crane) Cobb. Colleen grew up and attended school in Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Oklahoma, graduating from Cleveland (Oklahoma) High with the Class of 1977. Following high school, she furthered her education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Colleen later moved to Tulsa and began working for Skelly Oil, and later gained employment with Conoco and joined forces with Phillips. She was an oil and pipeline analyst when she retired in 2020. Colleen was united in marriage to Joe Kelley, Jr. on October 15, 2013, in Vidor, Texas.
Colleen always enjoyed fishing for crappie and spending time with her parents and family, including watching OSU football. She was also very passionate about animals and tending to stray animals. Colleen enjoyed driving through the Tallgrass Prairie, being outdoors, and taking time out of her day to make crafts for the patients and staff at the cancer center. Colleen was a former member of the Cleveland High School band and played the flute and piano. She was also a member of the Young Tulsans Orchestra, which traveled to Europe. Colleen also enjoyed traveling to Colorado and Wyoming, and visiting the national parks, especially Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.
Survivors include her husband, Joe, of the home; one son, John Michael Custer, of Ohio; parents, Max and Jean Cobb; one brother, Bryan Cobb; and wife, Nancy, of Alabama, as well as grandchildren Emily, Kendall Jane, and Freya, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family are invited to visit an online guest book and memorial page for Colleen at www.chapman-black.com.
