Clara Jeane Ross

Clara Jeane Tisher Ross passed from this life on September 9, 2023 at the age of 92 at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Jeane was born on April 10, 1931 at Keystone, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Edward and Tennie Matilda (Taylor) Carter. Jeane grew up in the Keystone area attending Rigsby School. Following school Jeane was united in marriage to Lewis Denton Tisher on September 8, 1948 at the Nazarene Parsonage in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Jeane and Lewis resided in several locations due to him being in the United States Air Force. Following his retirement from the military they returned to Cleveland in the Westport area in the mid 1960's. For many years Jeane served the area with a beauty shop from her home. After 25 plus years working Jeane retired. Following the death of Lewis, Jeane began working once again parttime at Palace Drug. On June 14, 1997, Jeane was united in marriage to Gene Ross. The two of them loved to travel and went to many places including an Alaskan Cruise, Hawaii, Las Vegas and cruises to other locations.

Working crossword puzzles, watching the gameshow network and going to the casino were favorite pastimes of Jeane.

Survivors are three children LaVerne Smith and her husband Harvey of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Sheila Huff and her husband Alan of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Diann Monforte and her husband Terry of Cleveland, Oklahoma; son in law Preston Lay of Cleveland, Oklahoma, one sister Lela Inderlied of Fairview, Texas; fourteen grandchildren Tara Dale of Euless, Texas, Molly Parks and Trapper of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jennifer Zickefoose of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Staff Seargent Alex Huff, USAF of Osan, South Korea, Cindy Huff of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Kefni Cartwright and Kevin of Drumright, Oklahoma, Kevin Mills of Jennings, Oklahoma, David Mills and Frankie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Stacie Monforte, Jesse Cavin, Travis Cavin; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. Jeane was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Lewis Tisher, Gene Ross, siblings Bobby Joe Carter, Cletus Gilbert; two daughters Teresa Lay, Rhonda Cavin, four grandsons Ryan Huff, Christopher Zickefoose, Liam Lynch and Terry Wayne Monforte.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Gowdy officiating the services. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery at Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
