Christopher M. Zickefoose

Christopher McCabe Zickefoose, affectionately known as "Zig," passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 40. He was born on December 5, 1982, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma Fire Station #1, to Troy Gene and Trena Gay (Echols) Zickefoose.

Chris began his education by being homeschooled until the 6th grade. Chris gave his life to the Lord on June 12, 1993, and later got baptized on September 19, 1993. He then completed his schooling in Cleveland and proudly graduated with the Class of 2001. Throughout his school years, Chris had a passion for sports and actively participated in wrestling and soccer, and later in life, he began playing recreational softball.

Following his graduation from high school, Zig embarked on his professional journey. He started working at Webco as an inventory control and receiving clerk. He then worked briefly at CustoFab as a document control clerk before finding his true calling as a technician at Total Comfort Solutions. Zig dedicated many years of his life to this position, contributing to the company's success and earning the respect of colleagues and customers.

Christopher was united in marriage to Jennifer Zickefoose (Huff) on February 9, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Zig is described as always helpful when others call upon him. He was known for his unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. Zig would always check on friends who had lost a loved one that was his true calling serving others. His caring nature extended beyond just family and friends; he would check on others daily to ensure their well-being—especially his Grandad and Papa while they were in the hospital. Zig deeply valued relationships and cherished time spent with loved ones.

Outside of work and helping others, Zig had various interests that brought joy to his life. He loved spending time on the lake, engaging in friendly shuffleboard competitions, firing up the grill for delicious meals, and enthusiastically attending events involving his children. With a discerning eye for foolishness or insincerity, Zig never tolerated stupidity and would always call someone out when they were bluffing.

Although he had a strong exterior, Zig also possessed a sensitive side that endeared him to those who knew him well. He took pleasure in witnessing the beauty of a sunset and cherished his role as "Pappy" to his grand dogs. Animals held a special place in his heart, and he always sought to provide them with love and care. Additionally, Zig brightened the lives of many through his daily Snap Chat posts, which friends and family eagerly anticipated.

Zig is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, who was his steadfast companion throughout their journey. He leaves behind four children: McKayla Huff and Jonce Blaylock of Berryhill, Oklahoma; Callie Huff of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Hayley and Braysen Zickefoose of the home. His parents, Troy and Trena Zickefoose of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; siblings Skye Stach and her husband Darryl of Lumberton, Texas; Jesse Zickefoose of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Farrow Zickefoose of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Grandmothers; Barbara Lawson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Shirley Zickefoose of Keystone, Oklahoma; and Jean Ross of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Wilma Huff; in-laws Alan and Sheila Huff of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and brother-in-law Alex Huff; and numerous other relatives and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his grandpas, Gary Lawson, Doyle “Buddy” Zickefoose, Allan Echols, and Gene Ross, best friend Brad Owens, and brother-in-law Ryan Huff.

While mourning his loss deeply, Christopher's family and friends also find solace in the memories shared with him during his vibrant life. Zig will be fondly remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and genuine love for those around him. May his soul find eternal peace as we cherish the legacy he leaves behind.
