Carolyn Wooten

Carolyn Kay Wooten passed from this life on August 3, 2025, at the age of 70 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Carolyn was born on January 14, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Olin and Daisy (McMahon) Buff. Carolyn grew up initially in Perkins, later moving to Cleveland, where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1973. Following high school, Carolyn worked at Palace Drug, Arc Electric, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Walmart, and Cleveland Flowers. She began employment with the Pawnee County Election Board in 2002 until she retired in 2016, then took a job in dietary at Cleveland Area Hospital. She took some time off, then went back to work part-time at Mazzio's until she was physically unable to.

On April 20, 1984, in Miami, Oklahoma, Carolyn was united in marriage to the love of her life, Floyd E. Wooten.

Carolyn was in love with being Floyd's wife and did everything she could to show him for their 25 years on Earth together. They loved going on vacations to Branson, Eureka Springs, or any place in Arkansas, spending time with their church family and, of course, their most valued treasure, Sammi Jo.

Carolyn loved to take care of everyone. She loved to cook and make you feel comfort with food and love. She loved animals. Her dogs and all of her cats. But her granddaughter was the light of her life. They loved each other more than all the cat toe beans in the world.Carolyn loved her family, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, childhood friends, coworkers, and all the babies in the world. She prayed for us all every single day of her life.

Survivors are Sammi Jo Wooten of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three sisters, Gayle Taylor of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Linda Finley of Arkansas, Rhae Smith of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and granddaughter Chloee Kupinski.Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wooten, her parents, Olin and Daisy Buff, and her brother, Buddy Buff.
