Caleb David Guse

Caleb David Guse, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and cherished friend, passed away on August 31, 2026, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, at the age of 44. He was born on January 26, 1982, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Throughout his life, Caleb had a remarkable ability to bring brightness, warmth, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Caleb's greatest love story began long before either of them knew where it would lead, on the Jenks High School swim team, where he and Nicona met. Barely friends at the time, they were reunited in 2010 and became inseparable. They married on the beach in Jamaica on March 17, 2014. Caleb and Nicona built a life filled with love, laughter, animals, music, days on the lake, and countless ordinary moments that meant more because they shared them together.

Caleb spent 19 years at ONEOK, where he became a deeply respected leader, trusted colleague, and mentor to many. He was known for his technical expertise, steady leadership, and determination, but just as importantly for the relationships he built with the people around him. His dedication extended beyond his everyday responsibilities through his involvement in the broader industry, including the American Petroleum Institute. Those who worked with Caleb knew the same qualities his family and friends did: he cared about people, believed in doing things well, and could always be counted on to show up.

Caleb was immensely proud of his daughter, Carys, and took great joy in watching her grow into the young woman she is today. Now in her second year at Oklahoma State University, Carys gave Caleb countless reasons to be proud. They shared a love of music and Maverick, and he treasured every moment they had together, whether it was time on the lake, a late-night phone call, or a simple text. The relationship he shared with Carys meant more to him than words could adequately express.

Perhaps Caleb's greatest gift was the way he made people feel. He had an extraordinary ability to welcome others and make them feel as though they belonged. To Caleb, no one was a stranger. He was generous with his kindness, compassion, and time, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Taking care of others wasn't simply something he did; it was at the core of who he was.

Caleb will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his generous heart, and the way he made people feel at home wherever he was. He loved his family and friends fiercely and gave freely of his time and himself, whether that meant helping, fixing something, carrying a burden, or simply showing up. Caleb made life fuller, louder, and brighter simply by being in it.

Caleb is survived by his wife, Nicona; his daughter, Carys Guse; his mother, Tami Guse; his brother, Bryan Guse; and his sister-in-law, Natalie Guse. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Guse.
