Billy Keith Neal

Billy Keith Neal, 81, of Osage, Oklahoma, passed from this life on October 21, 2019.
Billy was born on February 6, 1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billy was the son of William Riley and Nellie May (Henderson), Neal. At the age of 10, Billy moved with his family to Berryhill. After his education, Billy joined the United States Army with the permission of his parents at the age of 17. Following his enlistment Billy served his country in two tours in Vietnam and two tours in Korea. On July 3, 1958, Billy was united in marriage to Helen Doris Winford. During his time in the Army, Billy was honored with the following decorations and citations: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze with four Loops. On December 21, 1977, Staff Sergeant Billy Neal was honorably discharged after 21 years of service to his country.

Following retirement, Billy and Helen moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a short time, and in 2007, Helen wanted to move closer to the lake and away from the city life. So the couple moved to Osage, Oklahoma, on Keystone Lake. Fishing, watching westerns as well as playing cards were some of the things Billy enjoyed doing. He and Helen also enjoyed bowling and participated in a league for many years. Billy took a trip with his sister Ruby to Washington, D.C. His purpose was to go and visit the Vietnam wall to pay tribute to the men that helped save his life while in combat. Billy liked camping and took many trips to the Pine Island RV Resort at Grand Lake. Some of his favorite foods are brown beans, fried potatoes, cornbread and a Vidalia onion. Billy was known to be a jokester and loved teasing others.

Survivors are two sons Clayton Neal, Billy Neal, II both of Osage, Oklahoma; three sisters Ruby Powell of Terlton, Oklahoma, Jane Arnold of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Opal Credell of Norman, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his father William Neal, mother Nellie Neal, wife Helen; twin infant children Pandy and Candy

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Antioch Cemetery in Stigler, Oklahoma, at 3:00 pm.
