Agnes Marie Pearcy, 96, passed from this life on February 2, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Agnes was born on December 5, 1922, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William and Vinita (Rainbolt) Young. As a young girl, Agnes grew up and attended school in Cleveland graduating with the Class of 1940. Following her education attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In 1945, Agnes moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. During that time she was united in marriage to Artie Banks. In 1945, Agnes also gained employment with Sun Oil Company in downtown Tulsa working as a Geological Assistant. In 1950, she began working at Johnson Refining Company where she was the secretary to the president. Later in 1954, she was offered the position as senior clerk for Sinclair Oil Corporation. Then in 1970, Agnes accepted a position with Palik-Nelson Laboratory as the office secretary. In 1967, Agnes was united in marriage to Hensel Pearcy and established their home in Tulsa. In the mid-1970s, Agnes began working for Tulsa Public Schools in the cafeteria. She worked until 1985 and was the manager when she retired from Burbank Elementary School.

Following retirement that gave Agnes the opportunity to travel. She also enjoyed the times when she would attend the food conventions always looking for ways to provide the best food for the children she served. Agnes enjoyed ice skating, sports especially baseball and trips to Branson. Agnes also liked traveling to Phoenix to visit her sister. She was also an avid reader for many years until she lost her eyesight. However, that didn’t slow her down she remained active and liked listening to the television and the radio. Agnes was a very thoughtful person. Never missing the birthday of her family and friends. She is described as a very strong-willed, caring and confident lady.

Survivors include her son James Banks of Colleyville, Texas, one sister Martha Mizell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Janece Suarez, Julian Banks, Jamie Banks; four great grandchildren Stonie Williams, Christopher Carver, Joshua Suarez, Caitlin Suarez and several other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by two husbands Hensel Pearcy, Artie Banks; two sisters Mae Young, Vi Williams as well as a brother Bud Young.
