Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, February 27, 2006 for Woodley Johnson longtime area citizen of Pawnee County. He passed away February 23, 2006, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years 1 month and 27 days. Services will be held in the Sanctuary of the Terlton Baptist Church following a luncheon at the Terlton Senior Citizens Center. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

Woodley Johnson was born December 26, 1936 near Terlton, Oklahoma to Silver Glen Johnson and Modena (Wilcoxson) Johnson. He attended Terlton Schools for twelve years. When not in school he helped his parents and brothers on the farm and ranch raising crops and cattle. After graduation he began working for Wheatly Pump and Valve in Sand Springs. While working for Wheatly he married Virginia Lee Horton of Cleveland and to this union, one son, Gaylord was born.

After working for Wheatly, he moved to Delores County, Colorado. He was elected Sheriff of Delores County. Woodly returned to Pawnee County after serving several years as Sheriff and began his career as a deputy for the Pawnee County Sheriffís Department. Woodly was very interest in law and order. He kept up with the department until a short time before his death.

Later in life Woodly was united in marriage to Shirley Sanders of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were married for over 12 Ω years and made Cleveland their home.

Woodly is survived by his loving wife Shirley of the home, one son Gaylord of Tulsa, Oklahoma one granddaughter Jessica Johnson of Mannford, Oklahoma; three brothers Tally Johnson and wife Bessie of Terlton, Oklahoma; Muggyown Johnson and wife Lou of Jennings, Oklahoma; Coyote Johnson and wife Ramona of Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
