Winifred Marie (Haws) McKeel, known as Winnie of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed from this life on August 25, 2021, at the age of 107.

Winnie was born on June 6, 1914, in Terlton, Oklahoma the daughter of Horace Maynard Haws and Emily May (Shotwell) Haws. Winnie was raised and received her education in Terlton where she graduated high school. Following high school Winnie attended Oklahoma A&M and obtained her teaching certificate. During her time in Stillwater Winnie met Earl C. McKeel. The couple was later united in marriage on December 17, 1937, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Following their marriage Winnie and Earl moved frequently due to his military status. Following Earl's discharge from the military they established their home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In the early 1950's, Winnie and Earl moved to Battle Creek, Michigan. She resided there until 1971, when they returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma building their home at Ridgemont Estates on Keystone Lake. Following the death of Earl in 1990, Winnie moved to the Baptist Village where she resided until 2007. She then moved with her daughter to her current home in Cleveland.

Winnie enjoyed playing the piano while Earl sang. She also liked gardening, sewing, cooking and caring for her grandchildren; she often said, "that was pure joy." Family gatherings were also memorable events for Winnie; especially Thanksgiving that was her time to shine. She would always cook everyone's favorite dishes. Winnie was always proud and vocal about never taking her first cigarette, drinking or telling a dirty joke. She didn't think of God as a man, He is a Spirit of good things in this world. However, every night she would pray that His good Spirit would fall on her children. Winnie was a very active part of the First United Methodist Church. She spent many hours on numerous occasions cooking beans for their fund raiser.

Survivors are her three children Fatma McKeel of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Ron McKeel of Black Canyon City, Arizona, John McKeel, Sr of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son in law Alan Cahill of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Winifred was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Emily Haws, Earl McKeel, daughter Mary Cahill, siblings Betty Merrill, Lorine Taylor, Horace Haws and John Haws.
