Wilma Jean Trompler passed from this life on August 31, 2020, at 98 in Glenpool, Oklahoma.


Wilma was born on August 17, 1922, at Pocasset, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of David Clinton and Maggie May (Skinner) Reed. Wilma attended school in Chickasha through the 12th grade. Following her education, Wilma continued residing in Chickasha before moving to Colorado. On April 12, 1958, Wilma was united in marriage to Wilbur Paul Trompler, better known as Bill. The two remained in Chickasha before moving to Colorado in 1966. The two later returned to Chickasha, where she continued to reside until 2018. During her time in Chickasha, Wilma worked as a dental assistant for many years.

Wilma enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and crocheting house shoes for her family and friends. She also crosses stitched numerous Christmas ornaments. In the 1990s, Wilma and Bill took a three-week tour of Europe. In 2000, she also traveled to Egypt with her sister. Wilma was a very resilient woman. She endured numerous things throughout her life while most never seemed to phase her. Wilma got dressed daily, always ready to go on a moment's notice. Cooking for the holidays was always enjoyed by Willma. She always knew the right dish to make for her family and friends. Attending and being a part of the Paonia, Colorado Cherry Days was always a treat. Wilma and Bill loved being a part of the parade in their antique car.

Survivors include her children Charles Trompler and his wife Sheila of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Penny Morford and her husband Mike of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister Melba Heilman of Chickasha, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents David and Maggie Reed; husband Wilbur Trompler; one brother Charles Reed, three sisters Betty Davis, Barbara Conaway, Marilyn Wilson.

Private graveside services were held on Thursday, 1:00 pm at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Stillwater, Olkahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Wilma at www.chapman-black.com.
