William Woodrow Wilson

William Woodrow Wilson, 64, passed from this life on December 6, 2019, at his home in Terlton, Oklahoma. Woody, as his family called him, was born on December 16, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Wilbur Woodrow and Patricia Lea (Thompson) Wilson. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, shortly after his birth. Growing up, Woody attended Tulsa Schools. After his education, he went to work, an oil tank welder. Woody worked most of his life at TCI Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a fitter welder.

Woody loved to fish and hunt. Wherever the fish were biting, you could find him there. He taught the grandkids how to use a gun and loved to go hunting with them. His family described him as a man that loved his family, as a hard worker, and a man with a super good heart. Christmas and Thanksgiving were his favorite holidays, enjoying ham and dressing, fruit salad, finishing it off with pecan pie with whipped cream. The more whipped cream, the better. While the family was gathered around, Woody always had a story to tell and a joke for everyone. He had many quotes he would use, including “You can’t fix stupid.” And “The nonsense stops at the gate.”

Woody is survived by his wife, Edie Wilson, of the home; his four children, Terry Wilson and his wife Lisa, Brandy Wilson-Galvin and her husband Pete, Rebekah Boerger, and Don Edwards and his wife Donna; 8 grandchildren; his mother Pat Wilson-Newton and her husband Sam; and his brother Terry Lee Wilson. He is preceded in death by his father and an uncle, Wayne Wilson.

Upon his wishes, Woody will be cremated. An online guestbook for Woody is available at www.chapman-black.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
