Valerie Sue Gallatin, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma ta the age of 50 years, one month and nineteen days. Valerie was born October 21, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Hugh Denman and Betty Sue (Thrasher) Lear. As a young girl Valerie grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began her education at Lee Elementary and later attended Wright Junior High. Valerie completed her education at Eastwood High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma graduating with the Class of 1981. Following high school Valerie began attending Tulsa Junior College and later graduated with an Associates degree in Productivity Engineering. During her time in college Valerie worked at Geophysical Research Corporation. Several years after obtaining her degree, Valerie accepted a position with Ametek company where she worked for over 18 years. On October 21, 2011, Valerie was united in marriage to the love of her life and longtime friend Jerry Wayne Gallatin in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Valerie and Jerry established their home in Mannford and just recently moved to Oologah. Valerie was a very generous and loving person. Following the death of her mother, Valerie took over the position as grandmother to all of her nieces and nephews. Valerie would give anyone anything they needed without any questions. She also loved and enjoyed hosting the family events at her home. In August of 1979, Valerie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour at Falls Creek. Survivors are her husband and soul mate Jerry of the home; father Hugh Lear, step daughter Lindsey, of Hominy, Oklahoma; two sisters Shirley Ann Caudle of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Jennifer Adams and her husband Larrie of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, niece Rachel Adams, nephews Troy Caudle, Greg Caudle, Josh Adams, Aaron Adams and Caleb Adams and numerous other relatives and friends. Valerie was preceded in death by her mother Betty Sue Lear. Memorial services will be held 10:30 am Friday, December 13, 2013, in the Chapel of Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Pastor Larrie Adams officiating. Services and cremation of the body was under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral.
