Todd Hester passed from this life on Sunday, December 28, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years, eleven months and sixteen days. Todd was born on January 12, 1962, in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was the son of A.D. and Georgia Anne (Griffin) Hester. Todd was raised in Hominy where he began kindergarten and later graduated from Hominy High School with the Class of 1980. Following high school Todd began working for Metzger Oil Tool. On July 24, 1984, Todd was united in marriage to Kelly Sue Cole in Hominy, Oklahoma. Following the coupleís marriage they moved to Cleveland where they have continued to live. Todd has previously worked for Andover Oil as well as several other electrical and oil companies in the area. In 2010, Todd accepted a position with Southwestern Energy and was currently a field supervisor. He referred to his position with Southwestern as his dream job. Todd loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, fishing and hosting dinners at his home as well as sitting outside under his carport. His grandkids were his life and loved each one of them immensely. In October of this year, Todd and Kelly took an adventure. They took their mothers to Eureka Springs rented a one room cabin in the Ozark Mountains for a week. His mother and mother in law said, ìhe must be the bravest man around to do something like that.î Todd also enjoyed taking his family on yearly vacations to Turner Falls. Todd was a man that would do anything for anyone and lived life to the fullest. Survivors are his wife, Kelly of the home; two children Adam Hester and Lindsey of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Amanda Hester and Jim Kunard of Cleveland, Oklahoma; mother, Georgia Hester of Hominy, Oklahoma, one sister Dawna Jo Jones and Bobby of Claremore, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Mykaela Watkins, Kayleigh Hester, Harper Kunard, Jaxon Hester, two uncles Joe and Linda Griffin of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Donnie and Raelene Griffin of Orlando, Florida; two nephews Jake and Jared Jones, one niece Bobbi Jones and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Todd was preceded in death by his father A. D. Hester and maternal grandmother Ruby Griffin. Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
