Steven Allen Cody

Steven Allen Cody, Hominy resident, passed away October 30, 2013 in New Lenox, Illinios at the age of 56 years. Steve was born in Tulsa, Ok. on December 23, 1956 to parents Andrew J. and Mary Lou Cody. He grew up in Hominy, Ok. graduating from high school there in 1975. Shortly afterwards, he began a career in the pipeline business. Steve worked for several companies, including Rockford Corporation and Henkle and McCoy. He was affiliated with several unions over the years. During his working years he traveled extensively over the United States. One of Steve's greatest pleasures was spending time with his family. He was also a great mechanic and loved tinkering with cars, making things new and running again. He had a special gift for figuring out how to create or fix most anything and was good at construction as well. Steve loved his home, his hometown and was proud to be part of the Hominy Buck Pride tradition. Survivors are his wife Mary Edna of the home; mother Mary Lou Cody of Hominy, Oklahoma; Amber Lea Cody of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Sasha Dawn Stamper of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Shawna Lynn Cody of Hominy, Oklahoma; step son David Thompson of Odenville, Alabama; brother Andrew Jackson Cody IV of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sister Julia Anne Cody of Skiatook, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Dayton, Daryn, Henley, Kennedy, Zach, Gunner and numerous other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father Andrew Jackson Cody, III and daughter Amanda Jo Cody. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, 2:00 Pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Hominy, Ok. Rosary Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, 7:00 Pm at Chapman/Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Ok.
