Sharon Gail Martin

Today we are here to celebrate the life of Sharon Gail Martin a Servant of the LORD born on July 19, 1947 unto Viola Welhelmina Armstrong Box and Claude Winfield Box. These are the things she penned down with help of her daughter. What she really wants you to know and remember about her aren’t the facts of where she was born in Tulsa OK or that she worked her first job at Electrolux and then her 28 years at Skelly, Getty and finally Texaco. She wants you to know that at the age of 10 she gave her life to Christ and began to play the piano in this very church at the age of 11. She worked in many areas of the church throughout the years. Not only did she live and work for HIM in the church but everyday of her life by teaching her daughter Lee Ann and all those around the importance of daily seeking the LORD. Not that we are perfect, because it wasn’t that her life was without mistakes. We have all sinned and fallen short. But she walked with the LORD all the days of her life. One of her most cherished times was when she retired and went to live in Holland with Andy (her husband of 40 years). There she enjoyed riding bikes and experiencing the beauty of the places God had created. Even while in Holland the LORD allowed her the privilege of playing piano for the English language church they attended. Returning back home it wasn’t long before she began to go to Les Feldick’s Bible study where she was given the privilege of doing the closed captioning for all of his TV programming. Even after developing her brain cancer in 2007 she was able to complete the closed captioning for all of that programming for HIS Glory. Her favorite saying she borrowed from Les, Faith + Nothing = Salvation and her favorite scripture is The Gospel of Our Salvation found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Her greatest hope is that all of her friends and family would know her LORD as their LORD and that she will one day see you again in Glory. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Michael Dean Box. She is survived by her husband Andy Martin, Daughter Lee Ann Holloway, Brother Ronnie Box, Sister Jamie Annett and a host of Family and Friends that Love Her. Now let us worship our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ until then, that we shall see her on the other side.
