Samuel John Baldwin of Hominy, Oklahoma, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the age 59 years, two months and thirty days. Sam was born May 11, 1955, in Granville, New York. He was the son of Raymond and Dorthey May (Lockwood) Baldwin. As a young child Sam started his education in Granville and completion his education there as well. In the early 1970ís, Sam moved to Norman, Oklahoma. Shortly after his marriage to Diane Sharon Scally the couple returned to Granville, New York. In 1996, Sam moved to Hominy, Oklahoma where he continued to reside. During his time in Hominy, Sam worked in the oil field. He was later injured on the job and was permanently disabled in 2007. Sam loved tinkering on cars and was a very good mechanic. Sam was always committed to helping others and loved to work on his farm. Fishing, boating, farming and car racing gave Sam great enjoyment in life. One of the best times Sam had was the vacation with his family to Branson, Missouri. A great accomplishment that Sam made in his life was getting his land cleared so that he could start his farm. Sam had many memories but his fondest were the birth of his children and the marriage to his wife Diane. Three people that had the greatest effect on Sam throughout his life were Doug, Linda and Keith. Survivors are his wife Diane of the home, seven children Mary Baldwin, Samuel T. Baldwin, John Doherty, Tina Bushee and Billy, Samuel J. Baldwin, Jr. and Misty, Crystal Boulay, Ashley Baldwin; grandchildren Summer and T.J. Robinson, John, Justin and Jassy Doherty, Mikey Munoz, Roger Munoz, David Goodal, Emma Nelson, Caleb Brown, Angeliana Boulay, Mya Williams, William and Wyett Bushee, Elizebeth, Heylee, Journey and Tryston Baldwin, Hugh Waters, Tyler Conkey, Isaiah Yeldon and Heaven Yeldon; great granddaughter Mikayla Munoz and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. In addition to his parents Sam was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Baldwin and daughter Dorthy Baldwin. Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 15, 2014, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Waylon Stokes officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
