Ruth E. Carter, of Cleveland was born August 31, 1925 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Howard Early and Dorothy (Crosslin) Cutler. Ruth was raised and received her education in Dewey. The family moved to Tulsa in 1940's. On July 21, 1943 she was united in marriage to Edd Carter in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The couple made their initial home in the Cleveland area as Edd was operating a dry cleaning business here and then moved to Oxnard, California in 1955. They returned to Cleveland in 1969 where they have made their home since. Ruth loved to take care of her plants work in the garden and was a very devoted housewife and mother.

She passed away August 17, 2003 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years 11 months and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edd on August 6, 2003, as well as a sister Margaret Jean Neeley.

Survived by her daughters, Thelma Robison of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lorene Loney of Sperry, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Clyde Green, Bill Green, Glenn Green, Tania Reaves, Morgan Robison, Jacob Robison, three great grandchildren, sister Mercedes Fitzsimmons of San Bernardino, California; as well as a brother, Harrold Cutler and wife Betty of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held August 20, 2003 at 10:00 am at Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Dan Edens. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
