Rosemary was born on December 10, 1948 in Leonard, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Willard Ray and Esther Eva (Gillis) Cartwright. As a young girl Rosemary began her education in Bixby, Oklahoma. At the completion of her education she was united in marriage to Wayne Alvin Forest on March 30, 1965. The couple made their initial home in Leonard, Oklahoma until 1971. At that time Rosemary and Wayne moved from Leonard to Oregon. After several months they returned to Leonard where they continued to reside until 1979. In 1979, they moved to Osage and purchased a home. Rosemary continued to live in Osage until 1994. She then moved to Clayton, Oklahoma where she remained until 2005. In 2005, Rosemary and Wayne reunited and established their home in Mounds where she was currently residing. Rosemary worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She worked in several different care centers during her life as well as the Bixby Nursing Home, Hominy Nursing Home until the mid 80's and the Hissom Care Center for five years before the closure of the facility. Rosemary loved being in the outdoors; especially fishing, boating, planting flowers, gardening and cooking. Rosemaryís most favorite thing in the world was having big dinners with friends and family. She loved Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners or just a simple old fashioned fish fry. Rosemary and Wayne made many memories for their five children they will always and forever be remembered. One thing about Rosemary is that if she told you something ìyou could take it to the bankî. Rosemary French passed from this life on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years. Survivors are her children Margaret Bolander and her husband Johnny of Osage, Oklahoma, Timothy Forrest and his wife Crystal of Beggs, Oklahoma, Rodney Forrest and his wife Michelle of Checotah, Oklahoma, Marcy Benson and her husband Scott of McKinney, Texas, Wayne Forrest and his wife Shirley of Osage, Oklahoma; stepson Mike Shorey and his wife Rhonda of Hominy, Oklahoma; five brothers Richard Cartwright of Meno, Texas, Robin Cartwright of Bakersfield, Oregon, David Cartwright of Prue, Oklahoma, Randy Cartwright of Woodward, Oklahoma, Allen Cartwright of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three sisters Barbara Morse of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jan Phillips of Fort Worth, Texas, Patty Garrett of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren Jessica and J.J. Bolander, Macie, Bethany, Megan and Joshua Benson, Tiffany and Eric Taylor, Brittani, Briana and Brad Dickson, Amanda Allen, Chris and Tiffany Stephens, Candace, Cassie and Bradley Shorey; four great grandchildren Tatum, Tegan, Paisley Dickson and Jaden Allen; father of her children Wayne Forrest of Mounds, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Esther Cartwright and one brother Ray Cartwright. Church services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church in Prue, Oklahoma with Chris Gabriel officiating. Following the services the body will be cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family at www.chapman-black.com.
